You will have to gain her trust and assurance that you will not hurt her when you handle and trim the nails. You could try touching and manipulating her toes and nails while you hold her and watch television. Just off and on. After a few sessions of this, she should settle down some.

When you do the trimming, be sure to get a helper to hold her for you. Whatever you do, do not cut too close or do anything else that would cause pain. Stay in control, but don't try to do all four feet at once. Just one foot a day for a while until the job is done.

Consider buying one of the new grinders for trimming dog's nails. You can trim them a little further back with that. And, it leaves a much rounder and smoother end on the nail.
References :
http://Dog-Daze.net

Be careful, and possibly just take her to a groomer or a vet. If she's that sensitive, her nails may be irritating her. Don't try to clip them, vets and groomers have equipment and techniques that can help calm the dog down. Also, to help keep her nails rounded and short, let her run around on concrete every now and then. My grandparents did it with their dog, and her nails stayed pretty well rounded.
References :
My dog does the same thing. That is why I take him to the groomer's for his manicures.
References :
Yes, the baby is terrified of this, the dog really needs to go to your vet to have this done, he can control her, and if you continue to try to do it, in the state of mind she is, you may cut too short and then you will have a bleeder on your hands.

please take to the vet to have it done, not a groomer, yes they can do it, but a dog this scared needs to let a vet do it...

for the safety of your little dog, pls take to the vet....

she will thank you in the long run, for not hurting her.
References :
breeder, show, handler 15 yrs

Yes, those are all normal feelings of a panic/anxiety attack; I suffer from the same feelings, I even start to shake really bad. I have been suffering for about 5 years now and it sucks until you can learn to get control and even then there will be times where it still just sucks. Like tonight just dead in my sleep I woke up in a panic over I have no idea what, but shaking a racing heart and racing thoughts. I usually make a warm cup of tea (NON CAFFENIATED), put in a great movie (usually a chick flick) and just cover up, get comfy and relax. Another thing to do too is to have a notebook and write down all of your thoughts/fears that are running through your mind at the time. You will quickly start to realize that you are having an attack over NOTHING :) I also have to take meds that have helped tremendously and am very thankful for. I also pray a lot and just trust God with everything! Good luck, you will be okay and always remember you are not alone in this :)
References :
I've dealt with anxiety disorder for years. I've been in treatment for a long time as well. First talk to your doctor about your overall health. If you are a generally healthy adult you have nothing to worry about. The attacks feel very physical, but trust me they are more bark than bite. And yes, relax as much as possible. If you feel like you are losing control or are going to hurt yourself or others call 911. I've been to the hospital more times than I can count for these horrible attacks. Rest assured they do pass.
References :
20 years of suffering

I would say it is one.
When your blood races, whether from running, or panic attack, yes you feel your blood. Your blood pressure goes up horrible (mine was190/240). Your body responds in all kinds of ways, and yes if you have a weak ticker, it can kill you. Most people go to ER for this reason. They can give you meds to relax you, but ultimately you/or pills need to get control of it.
You first of all need to calm down. Think on relaxing things (I know it is hard, but RELAX), nice music, deep breaths, slow and deep. When you get under control, think about the thing that upset you, is it really that big of a deal (you start feeling panic, start relaxing again), face your fear.
References :
I pray a lot! I speak to that fear and tell it to go, it has no part in my life, in Jesus name.
